Notes |
Married:
- From Janet Bjorndahl: The identity of Jacob Schantz's first wife as Magdalena Erb, daughter of Nicholas Erb, is not certain. However, his first wife was stated to be Magdalena (Ezra Eby, Richard Davis), and Magdalena Erb was stated to be married to a Johns (Shantz) of Leacock township (Alex Harris), and Jacob most likely resided in Leacock township for a while (Alex Harris).

He gives a marriage date of ab, out 1740 in Pennsylvania, but it appears that they were already married w, hen the Charming Nancy arrived in Oct 1737..
- [S100] Alexander Harris, A Biographical History of Lancaster County [Pennsylvania]: Being a History of Early Settlers and Eminent Men of the County (Lancaster, Pennsylvania: E. Barr & Co., 1872), (names only), via John Larkins, 'Magdalena Erb, daughter of Nicholas Erb, married to a Johns of Leacock t, ownship.' (John Larkins notes that 'Johns' is almost certainly a transl, iteration of 'Schantz'.) According to Larkins, Harris describes 2 of t.
