Edward M. Moone Jr. 61 of Valiant Dr., service manager of he East Greenwich Oil Co. for 34 years before retiring in 1991, died Friday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Beverly (Heeks) Moone.
Born in North Kingstown, a son of the late Edward Moone Sr., and Lucinda (Coon) Moone, he lived in East Greenwich for many years before moving to Coventry seven years ago.
Mr. Moone was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a former member of the East Greenwich Veteran Fireman’s Association
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Guy E. Moone of Pawtucket, and David J. Moone of Coventry; Five daughters JoAnn Donnelly, Dawn M. Sweet, both of Pawtucket, Barbara Moon of Coventry, and laurie A. Lazarides of Warwick; two stepdaughters, Cynthia L. Jarvis of Cranston, and Jessica L. Jarvis of East Greenwich; two brothers James and Steven Moone, both of North Kingstown three sisters, Florence Long in Connecticut, Elizabeth Smith of Cranston, and 12 Grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hill Funeral Home 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Burial with military honors will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery In Exeter.
