Lilly Martin uses the name of Benjamin Trotter Mitchell in stead of Benjamin Thomas Mitchell.
Lilly Martin: Explanation of name change. According to findagrave.com, his official name was Benjamin Trotter Mitchell ( Some of his ancestors had the surname Trotter ) But one of his wives didn’t like it so he changed the Trotter to Thomas.

Note: the first time he traveled to Utah, he was in the Heber C Kimball Company with three of his wives and five of his children. He was 32 years old. Six years later, he went back to help more members of the LDS church travel to Utah and was the Captain over a company that departed 20 Apr 1854 and arrived 5 Aug 1854. This trip was where he met his 7th wife.
Came to Utah in 1848 with Heber C. Kimball Company, arriving 24 September 1848. He was a captain of 10. His 4 children and his 3 wives were with him wife Lovina (Buckwalter), wife Lois (Judd), wife Caroline (Conrad). After arriving in Salt lake, he went back and returned heading up the Benjamin Thomas Mitchell Company, arriving 5 August 1854. In this company was Mrs. Susannah Houston Matlock and her 4 year old son. She was a widow he later married in 1857. (info from his cemetery website)
He was married to 7 women. He had 54 children.
He was a Stone Mason, and set the foundation stones for many of the most important buildings in Salt Lake City, UTah.
